IHOP® RESTAURANTS CELEBRATE GRAND OPENING OF SECOND ERIE, PA LOCATION
Posted on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2:14 PM

IHOP® restaurants will celebrate the grand opening of its second restaurant in Erie, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 6 a.m. The family-friendly restaurant will proudly serve breakfast all day, every day -- including its world-famous buttermilk pancakes, hickory smoked bacon,  crepes, stuffed French toast, omelets, never-empty coffee pot® and other delicious, innovative foods -- as well as the brand’s signature lunch and dinner fare. The West Erie IHOP restaurant will be open seven days a week 6 AM-10 PM Sunday-Thursday and open 24 hours Friday & Saturday. A press conference and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 9 AM on Tuesday, November 14th with a special presentation honoring Taki’s Restaurant.

This marks the second IHOP restaurant for franchisee Scott Enterprises, which currently operates five Applebee’s® restaurants in Erie, Meadville and Warren Pennsylvania. Both Applebee’s and IHOP are wholly-owned subsidiaries of DineEquity, Inc. (NYSE: DIN). The opening will introduce an expected 120 new jobs to the local economy.

“We are very excited to add an additional IHOP location to the Erie community,” said Nick Scott, Sr. President of Scott Enterprises. “We’re also proud to dedicate a corner of the restaurant to Taki’s, who for over 50 years served breakfast at this location. We honor the history of Taki’s Restaurant. It was a gathering place & breakfast institution in the Erie area. We respect the memories made here and honor Bill Pakanikos & family. We are happy to serve breakfast again at this iconic spot on West 12th Street.”

A corner of the West 12th Street IHOP location will serve as a memory wall to Taki’s Restaurant.

Scott Enterprises, who invested more than $3 million in the development of the restaurant, followed the new IHOP Rise ‘N Shine concept. Diners will be welcomed by a contemporary style -- both inside and out -- that includes elements beloved by guests, such as the iconic banquette seats, as well as new features like porcelain wood-like floors, stylized copper light fixtures that mirror the coffee pots, and of course, the IHOP smile logo, which was introduced last year.

“Erie loves IHOP,” said Nick Scott, Jr., Vice President of Scott Enterprises. “As the creator of ‘breakfast all day, every day’, IHOP is a beloved brand that year after year maintains its position as THE breakfast leader.

We’ve had many requests to add a location to the West side of town. We are so proud to add a second location to our portfolio!”

The new IHOP is located at 2933 West 12th Street, next to Applebee’s.
