Nicholas C. Scott
President & CEO

Nicholas C. Scott is the President and CEO of Scott Enterprises, a family-owned hospitality company based in Erie, Pennsylvania. With over five decades of leadership in the hospitality industry and a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Cornell University, Mr. Scott has been the driving force behind the company’s extraordinary expansion into one of the region’s premier hospitality groups.

Under his leadership, Scott Enterprises has grown to more than 24 properties across Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York, including award-winning hotels, restaurants, Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park, Peek’n Peak Ski and Summer Resort, a championship-level golf course, conference centers, and a spa.

Notable accomplishments under his leadership include:

  • The creation of Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort in 2003 as a unique year-round tourist attraction featuring three connected hotels. Since its opening, the park has undergone four major expansions, becoming one of the region’s top tourist destinations. In 2025, Splash Lagoon was named the second-best indoor water park in the United States by the USA Today Reader’s Choice Awards.

  • The acquisition and revitalization of Peek’n Peak Ski and Summer Resort in Clymer, NY, in 2011.

  • The development of Erie’s first rooftop restaurant, Oliver’s Rooftop, a multiple award winner, located on the eighth floor of the Hampton Inn & Suites.

  • The launch of Sola Salon Studios Erie in 2023, the first salon suite concept in the region, offering 40 private studios for beauty professionals to operate their own business.

  • The introduction of Roma’s Italian Kitchen in 2024, which has quickly become Erie’s highest-rated Italian restaurant on OpenTable.

Mr. Scott, together with the Executive Leadership Team, including his sons Nick Scott Jr., Chris Scott, and Mr. Scott’s wife, Kim Scott, has also led Scott Enterprises’ most ambitious development to date: the Harbor Place project on Erie’s Bayfront. After breaking ground in 2018, the company secured a $5 million RACP grant and invested more than $25 million in private capital to complete Phase One of the $170 million mixed-use development. This transformation included:

  • The Hampton Inn & Suites Bayfront, with modern accommodations and panoramic waterfront views.

  • Oliver’s Rooftop Restaurant, nationally recognized and named Most Romantic Restaurant in Pennsylvania

  • Oliver’s Beer Garden is a vibrant seasonal venue featuring live music from over 100 local bands each summer, local craft beer, and an 18-hole miniature golf course on the water.

The 24 Scott Enterprises locations collectively serve over 4 million guests annually, significantly boosting regional tourism and economic development.

Looking ahead, Mr. Scott is leading the development of Phase Two of Harbor Place, which will include a new AC Marriott Hotel, a second rooftop bar and restaurant, a meeting space, and a seasonal ice skating rink and sports venue, with a plan to open in 2026

Mr. Scott has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including Inc. Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year, the Erie Chamber’s Outstanding Business Person Award, and features in national publications like Franchise Times, Entrepreneur, and Success Magazine. He was also selected to represent Pennsylvania at the White House Conference on Tourism.

A passionate and dedicated community advocate, Mr. Scott has held leadership roles with the Erie Art Museum, the Erie Philharmonic, the Hamot Health Foundation, the Erie Rotary Club, and many other organizations. Through the company’s “We Promise to Care” initiative, he has fostered a strong culture of service and philanthropy among Scott Enterprises’ 2,000‑plus associates.

Outside of business, Mr. Scott is an award-winning photographer and an avid sportsman who enjoys tennis, golf, skiing, boating, and scuba diving. Inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of his father, Christ Scott, who emigrated from Greece to Erie, Nick continues to lead Scott Enterprises with a commitment to family values, excellence in hospitality, and the economic enrichment of the Erie region.

Mr. Scott is married to Kim, from Rochester, NY, who also attended Cornell University. Married 60 years, they have five children, 18 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
