ERIE, PA (August 31, 2020) : Erie-based hospitality group, Scott Enterprises, has opened their latest location in Erie. A brand-new Hampton Inn & Suites will begin welcoming overnight guests and travelers today, Monday August 31.

The new hotel features 94 guest rooms, 32 of which are studio-style suites, which are larger and more luxurious than a standard hotel room. These larger studio-style suites can accommodate up to four guests and are ideal for families or business travelers looking for extra space and amenities such as a lounge area with a 55” smart TV & a sleeper sofa, a wet bar and premium bay views. The hotel also features an indoor pool, fitness center, meeting space and stunning views of Presque Isle Bay and downtown Erie. The hotel’s design will incorporate many pieces of art and photography that showcase the rich history and waterfront attractions that Erie is famous for.

The crowning jewel of the new project, Oliver’s Rooftop restaurant and bar, will be Erie’s first and only rooftop restaurant and is expected to open in October 2020. The original-concept restaurant pays homage to Oliver Hazzard Perry and will serve a variety of chef-created dishes with delicious seafood, savory steaks and creative dining options. Perched eight stories above Erie’s beautiful Bayfront, Oliver’s Rooftop is being designed with incredible viewing vantage points of Presque Isle Bay provided by massive ten-foot tall glass windows. A retractable glass wall will also allow for open-air dining on the rooftop balcony in good weather.

The construction of Hampton Inn & Suites and Oliver’s Rooftop represents a $22 million investment in the new hotel, restaurant and infrastructure improvements on the developing site of Harbor Place.

The Hampton Inn & Suites hotel is the initial phase of Scott Enterprises’ long-term vision to develop the area along Erie’s Bayfront into a mixed-use development named Harbor Place. Harbor Place will be built in multiple phases and will eventually include a second waterfront restaurant, office space, an extend-stay style hotel, retail shops, parking garage, a skating rink, water fountains, condominiums and apartments. Scott Enterprises will ultimately invest over $160 million into the project.

“The opening of this Hampton Inn & Suites is just the beginning of our company’s vision to transform this section of Erie’s Bayfront into a mixed-use development project which is the ideal place to Live, Work & Play” says Nick Scott Sr., President of Scott Enterprises. “Our team has put an immense amount of effort into the development of this hotel and towards our long-term vision for Harbor Place. We’re proud of the work our employees have done to bring this project to life.”

“Oliver’s Rooftop restaurant and bar will be a stunning facility which will offer breathtaking views of the sunsets and Presque Isle Bay. There’s no other dining experience in the area quite like it” says Nick Scott Jr., Vice-President of Scott Enterprises.

“Harbor Place is the result of nearly 20 years of planning and research. We’re excited to be moving forward with our development project and will continue to create businesses in the next phase of Harbor Place that bring people from near and far to our hometown of Erie” explains Chris N. Scott, Vice-President of Scott Enterprises.
